Erin was first introduced to yoga at age sixteen by her mother, who encouraged her to take classes. Later, in college she began a regular Hatha practice and eventually discovered a love for a wide variety of yoga styles including Ashtanga, Bikram, Kundalini, and Anasura. In 2001, Erin was faced with an emergency surgery to remove a malignant Stage I ovarian tumor. This experience prompted her to delve deeper into her practice and encouraged her to eventually teach yoga in Las Vegas, Nevada where she was living at the time. She received her AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) certification, PiYo (pilates and yoga) certification, and went through the Yoga Fit level 1 program. She first began teaching power yoga in addition to a childrenís yoga class. Erin also taught yoga to children with learning disabilities and attention disorders in Charlotte, NC through an after-school program. Currently, she is in the Yoga Alliance 200 hour program through Third Street Yoga. Erin has participated in workshops and retreats led by John Friend, Rolf Gates, K.K. Ledford, and Bryan Kest, among others. She continually participates in workshops, retreats, and seminars as she knows that yoga is a lifetime of learning and growing. Erin has a Bachelorís degree in Communications and Rhetoric and a Masterís Degree in Educational Counseling.
